Frequently Asked Questions

What is your style?

My visual style is best described as lifestyle photography. I create lightly posed photographs and use a documentary approach to capture unique moments as they unfold, genuine emotions, and connection within your family.

How long will a photo shoot be?

Session lengths vary depending on the package selected but typically last between 45 minutes and 2 hours.

What should I wear to my session?

Most importantly, please wear clothing you feel comfortable in so you can relax and be yourself in front of the camera. Often neutral colors are the most flattering in photos. If you prefer vivid colors, I recommend sticking to three colors in your color-palette. Layering works well for creating different looks. Avoid busy patterns, prints, or logos.

Which languages do you speak?

I am an English-speaking photographer. I also speak Russian and Ukrainian fluently and some Italian.

How and when will i receive my images?

You will receive your photographs through an online gallery within two weeks of your photo-shoot.

What time do the sessions take place?

For indoor sessions, the time is flexible. The best time is when kids are rested and ready to play.

Outdoor sessions are different. The best time to be photographed outside is during the golden hours; either the hour right after the sunrise or an hour before the sunset, when light is the most flattering, creating a golden glow (hence its name). In busy Rome in particular, sunrise photo-sessions provide the special opportunity of taking photos in front of famous landmarks without having to navigate the many visitors.

What geographical areas do you serve?

I am based in Arlington, Virginia, and I mainly work with clients in Washington metropolitan area. I am also available to travel to other countries and from time to time offer sessions in Italy, in places like Rome, the Amalfi coast, Tuscany, Florence, Milan, Venice, Cinque Terre. Send me a note to inquire about my availability at your preferred location.
